Died Tuesday July 17, 2012. He was born June 24, 1977 in Ann Arbor, MI the son of Larry E. and Carol S. (Kitchenmaster) Oakes. Scott graduated from Huron High School in 1995 where he played football and baseball and was a member of the Little Caesars Travel Baseball League. Scott received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from Western Michigan University in 2000. On May 27, 2006 he married Renee Lynn Peters, of Marine City, MI at Zion Lutheran Church in Ferndale, MI. Scott was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. He was currently employed as a Developmental Engineer for Unipres, Novi, MI. Scott will always be remembered for his love, loyalty, and generosity to family and friends. He will always be remembered for his passion of sports especially Michigan Football and Basketball. He also enjoyed playing with his children, the outdoors including fishing, biking, and recreational basketball. Survivors besides his wife Renee, include two loving children; Nathan age 2 and Taylor 8 months. Parents Larry and Carol Oakes, sister Sarah Oakes, grandmothers Arlene Oakes and Jean Kitchenmaster, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2012, at 11:00am at Nie Family Funeral Home, Liberty Rd. Chapel, 3767 W. Liberty Rd, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48103, with Pastor Ted Jungkuntz of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Ann Arbor officiating. Contributions in memory of Scott may be made to the Nathan & Taylor Education Fund. Envelopes will be available the Nie Family Funeral Home, Liberty Rd.
