Hickman, Elizabeth M. "Liz"
Went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 3, 2012. She was born November 2, 1919 in Plymouth, Mi the daughter of Richard B. and Helen M. (Scherer) Vealey. On July 9, 1948 she married Wilber J. Hickman in Ypsilanti and he survives. Mrs. Hickman attended North Prospect Baptist Church. She retired from Michigan Bell in 1980 as a Service Representative after 30 years of service. She was an active member of the Loyal Order of the Moose #782 for many years. She will always be remembered for her love of dancing, bowling and crocheting. Survivors besides her husband Wilber of 64 years include 2 sons; Robert (Linda) Roe and Craig (Claudia) Hickman, 7 grandchildren; Robert (Bridget) Roe, Jeannette (Richard) Porter, Heather (Keith) Robertson, Jaime Roe, Meghan Hickman, Sarah Hickman, and Kaitlyn Hickman, 5 great grandchildren, 1 sister Geraldine Knapp and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Friday, August 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the JANOWIAK FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Clyde C. Johnson of North Prospect Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Contributions in her memory may be made to Arbor Hospice.
